Please Help Change Camp Green Lake!

Camp Green Lake is finally changing ownership! Their old-fashioned ways of depriving the boys of their basic needs is OVER!

YOU AND YOUR GROUP have the opportunity to change it forever. It’s up to you, how will you make it a fair, yet effective place?

Things to consider:
-Is it effective to use digging holes to reform character?

-How would you change Camp Green Lake to make it an effective place?

-In other words, how could Camp Green Lake ACTUALLY help the boys become better people…It’s up to you!

You will need to have several DEEP discussions with your teammates before you can JUSTIFY why your reasoning is correct.

Camp Green-Lake Makeover

Camp Green Lake has been teaching the boys all wrong. They should’ve taught them like this. First, they will show a video about bad boys to every boy. Next, they would act out how good boys would to show them how to be good. After that, they would get a reward if they did well. Like AC, or heat, getting clean clothes or snacks and/or showers. Overall the place will be clean and their beds will be cozy, so they will be willing to work.

This is why we chose to do this. We would show the video to show what they could turn into if they stay bad. The kids will act so they know what to do and to say in a certain situation. The reward will make them want to be good. This is how we will change Camp Green Lake.

We think this is great! We all love that you guys make the boys see what their future would be like if they were still bad. But if they were good they would have a happy future. That's a great idea.

*Camp Rehabilitation*

There is so much to change about Camp Green Lake. First of all there will be training the boys and girls like they would be in the military instead of digging holes. We are going to do this because it shows the value of hard work. It will also show that hard work pays off because we will be rewarding them with breaks and extra sleep. If they don’t work hard they will have to run 10 laps around the whole camp, which is 200 yards. Afterwards, they will be able to drink as much water as they need.

We will also be teaching them about kindness. We will do this by playing second step videos. After that they will have to act out scenes from the clips with partners we pick. They will then use these social skills around the camp. If they don’t succeed in this task, they will have to double their military work.

There will be other little changes like a big room filled with bunk beds instead of tents. This room will be air conditioned when it’s hot and heated when it’s cold. There will also be changes to the wreck room. We will add a new TV, a new couch, and a new fridge with food and drinks in it. There will also be breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Finally, there will be a new name instead of Camp Green Lake and that is Camp Rehabilitate. Lets hope that these kids will learn a lesson and become kind and mature people.

Good job! Your idea makes me think of a boot camp because army,marine etc. soldiers work really hard and it sounds like the kids in the camp work hard too. Also, I like your mix of strictness and kindness so the kids aren't spoiled but also not abused.Good post and I'm proud of your work.

Camp FIJI

At camp FIJI we will change bad kids by putting them through real life examples. We do this because it shows kids that if they do the right thing in society they will be successful.After a year if the teachers think the kid is ready the kid may leave the camp FIJI.

If the kids do something good they get good food and get to swim in the lake. If they do something bad they have to do push-ups and pull-ups in the scorching heat.

For the final test they make a big deal about a test and give them one question. If they pass they “go home” but they really take the final test. If they pass they get to really go home if they fail the go back to the camp FIJI. When they go back they go to a harder wing of the school and do it all over again. That is how we rehabilitate bad kids at camp FIJI.

I really like that if the kids do good they get to go home. However it is a little harsh to make the children do push ups and pull ups in the scorching heat.

Changing of Camp Green Lake

If we were to change camp green lake we would make them do community service. They would travel to nearby communities and help out there. They would clean up parks and build benches and gazebos. They could volunteer at animal shelters, nursing homes and more. They could do fundraisers for charities. They would do this because community work is a great way to build character and help people. It would help the boys to work together.

This would be different from their old work. It would because they would get rewarded every week unless they were bad. The reward would be a trip to the ice cream parlor. They would have enough water and clothes. They could also pick what they eat. The goal of the camp would be to rehabilitate the boys into better people. They would be treated like normal people and when they leave they would be better individuals.

THE TASERS

We are trying to teach the kids how to be better people. We will do this by teaching them what to do when they are in a situation when they could be good or bad. They will practice this by acting out skits. If they do something bad they get punished and if they do something good they get rewarded.

We will teach them four ways to become better. One way is empathy. This will work because they will learn how their actions can hurt other people. Our second way is compassion. This will teach them how to help other people. Our third way is treat others the way they want to be treated. Finally, we have think before you do stuff. All these reasons can help them become better people

Acting out skits will help them become better people. When we punish them and reward them they won’t want to be bad. When they are rewarded they will want to be rewarded more. When they are punished they will want to stop being punished. That is how we will teach the kids to become better people.

I really like the way you can teach the kids how to be better with the four ways like Empathy, Compassion, and all that good stuff. You should also show them the walk, walk, walk video. It will teach the kids how to be kind and you can make them practice how to be kind.

The Water Sizzlers We are here to take over the camp. Last year the boys were tortured by digging holes but that is going to change now!The people in charge of the camp last year didn’t know how to change the boys into better people but we are here to change them.

This year we will make the boys better people.We will do this by putting the boys in a room and make them watch videos on how to be kind.Then we would have them practice being kind and if they do good we would hire people to make the dry lake into a fun place for kids to hang out, with water slides and snack shacks.Also we could give them extra time in the rec room. Finally we could give the boys extra time or extra water in the shower because they’ll probably be hot and tired after a day in this desolate desert.This would work because in the real world if you do something good, something good will happen to you.

We really like your idea and we think that the water slides and snack shacks are different from others ideas but it was a good idea. You might want to make it a little less fun so the boys won't become spoiled but great job!

Camp-No-Lake

Camp-No-Lake will reform your kids. The teachers are trained to maintain your kids.Your children will not be denied of their education because we have a school. Your children will be able to read because we have a library in the school. We have fresh food from all around the country and a giant water supply to hydrate your children. We have reformed criminals to teach your children that being good is better than being bad.

Your child will love being good. They will adore this because we reward them for every day they are being good. They can earn treats, toys, and money for when they leave. After they are good in school, they can play outside. If your child is good for three weeks, they will earn $20. Your child will now refuse to be bad.

However, if they are bad then they will not get the same rewards. When they are misbehaved they have to dig a three foot deep hole. Your child will not be able to play before or after they dig the hole. We are not like the old Camp Green Lake. If your child finds something valuable they will not be rewarded. Your child will never want to be bad again.

Camp Green Lake’s original idea was to make to boys dig holes so that they can become better people. Thier other goal was to find the burried treasure hidden under the ground. They would make the boys dig for hours and hours in stifling weather. They are trying to change the boys by giving them disciplines so that they won’t mess up again. But we will change that!
We have decided to give the boys better,healthier food and more water. We have also chosen for the camp counselors to talk to the kids about what they have done and how they can change. Also the kids will do community service such as picking up trash or raking leaves. Finally when the boys get caught doing good things like sweeping and doing laundry when they are not told to they will get rewarded, But if they do something bad such as hurting someone physically or mentally their punishment will be doing extra chores.
I think our ideas will work because if the boys are put through too much torture they will want to do more bad things and show their feelings. If the counselors talk to the kids they will be more calm. I think that the better food will help them stay active. Also the water will keep them hydrated. The community service will make them be better and nicer people. We will reward them because it will teach them a life lesson saying that if you do good in life you will get something good back. But we will punish them for doing bad because if you do bad things you won’t get anywhere in life.
