On Friday, my Sana came and took my brother, sister, and I to the mall. First we went to Gamestop were I bought a video game. We saw a escalator that was broken and it didn’t have stairs so that they could fix it. We went to Newbury Comics but didn’t get anything. Then we decided to go to Dave & Buster's and do the virtual reality. We flew on fire dragons and fought an ice prince!
We went back to the mall and we then went on an elevator that was as slow as a turtle! It creeked and squeaked and I felt like it was going to break! We went to ThinkGeek were my brother got an action figure. Then we went to Lush where my brother, Sana, and I sat outside while my sister spent years deciding what to buy and get! Eventually she picked something and we went to the food court. I spent weeks in line waiting for my food so my sister and I went to a different place to get Snapple and we went to find a seat.
After eating we went to Target. We finally made it to the bus stop, only to find out we missed our bus! We would have to wait another hour! My sister and I sat on a block of cement that held a street light in place and waited for about 7 minutes. But my brother just ended up calling my uncle who came and picked us up, but I had fun!

I like how you said "I spent weeks in line waiting for my food" instead of I waited for a long time.

I love how you describe the food court and the elevators, but I do have 1 question. Who is a Sana?

Nice job describing the elevator with the noise and pace of it.

I liked the part when you said the escalator didn't have stairs because I knew exactly what you meant. However, this story is a little bit more of a grocery list.

I had an awesome vacation. On Monday, I slept and I went for dinner for my grandmother’s birthday. On Tuesday I woke up at 8 and watched the Lego Movie 2 with Emily, my mom, my brother, and his friends. After the movie, Me and Emily played on our iPad. On Wednesday, I woke up at 9 and made breakfast. Then I went to the dentist. On Thursday, I packed my stuff and got ready to go to New York the next day. On Friday, I woke up at 4am and waited until my Mom, dad, and brother got ready. Together went to the train and got food. We waited until it was 6 to ride the train. My brother and I watched some YouTube while my parents went to sleep. After 4 hours, we got off the train and went to our hotel. When we dropped our luggage off into our room, we went and got some food at a Korean restaurant and it was delicious. My aunt and grandma were going to arrive in New York later in the afternoon so we walked around places until it was 2pm. We decided meet somewhere but we kept getting lost. Finally we found them and we went and got more food. We went to Town Square and went to M&M Store and the Hershey’s Store. On Saturday, we woke up and went to Chinatown in New York. I bought a bookmark that had a picture of a cherry blossom tree on a leaf. We got shaved ice as a dessert and it was extremely tall. Then we went to a Nintendo shop and it was really cool. We went to this candy store that was really big. Then got to the train station at 7pm and arrived home at 1am. On Sunday, I woke up at 2pm. I got ready for a birthday party. I went there and played games, eat cake, and then we left. My vacation was remarkable.

Creak! The wood below my feet shifted, and I was caught off-balance. The tour guide, whose name was Jake, continued to tell about how to fire the cannons. I was on the 200 year old USS Constitution, A.K.A. Old Ironsides, that was used in numerous battles of the War of 1812. I was looking at rows of cannons that were also 200 years old and still ageing. Each cannon was old fashioned and black, with many complicated ropes and knots around their bodies.
The tour guide was just telling us about how there was a Triangle of Death where you loaded bullets when the boat began to shift again. Jake looked nervous, but said it was normal. I really doubted that, though. A half-hour ago he told us it was sturdy and didn't move. We continued our tour to the below decks where soldiers slept. To keep calm, I made a 8 knot with my handmade rope around my finger.
Suddenly, the boat started to tip. It leaned to the left, then the right, each time going a little farther out. Everyone on the tour looked petrified, including Jake and me. Get Down!! He screamed. Then everything stopped.
A man was walking down a the stairs, talking about a test. When he saw us, he went as red as a tomato. He explained about how they were moving the platform to get an angle for a picture and forgot that there was a tour going on. The platform held the boat, so all the creaking was the platform shifting, not the boat. When the boat almost tipped, they were doing a quick test shot. As I stepped off the boat, I laughed. I had thought today was going to be uneventful!

Most events in this story are true, like The Triangle of Death and most of the 1st paragraph. Some, however, are fictional. The boat did not really tip and there was no pictures going on whatsoever.

My February vacation break was so fun!! During the vacation I did a lot of things. To start off the vacation we went skiing, at Nashoba Valley. During the 3 days we stayed we always went to a breakfast buffet in the morning, it was so delicious. Then right after breakfast we would hit the slopes. By the way this would be my 2nd time skiing and I could already go down a double black diamond. This black diamond but that would be too insane to go on it on my first day of skiing when I need to get comfortable with the skis and see what the snow is looking like. Right after a day went by I was ready, when I me I was ready I was ready to go down a double black diamond I couldn’t even see the bottom of the trail that was how high I went up. Before this I went on hard blues then a Black diamond. But if you don’t ski and don't know what black diamonds are, well they are the hardest trail to go down. This is a weird thing I do, whenever I go down a hill I sing theme songs to t.v. shows or if not songs. So while I went down the hill I was going at least 20 miles per hour, so while I went down I did all the steps I needed to do in order not to fall. As I was falling down My brother and I were both singing the Friends theme song, and in this them song there is a part were you clap. So I sang the theme song Boom! I started clapping then I did a 180 because I jumped and then my brother turned me around. So that means that I’m facing the wrong way, so I did everything you need to do backwards. I was thinking to myself “What am I spouse to do.” So as I started to slow down I made it to the bottom, and everything was alright for the rest of the days staying there.
Wednesday through Thursday wasn’t all that fun with staying home but thursday was alright because it was my dog’s 4th birthday which was pretty cool. During the vacation we also celebrated my Dad’s 50th birthday on the 22nd. My dad was also very happy about the presents he got from my family. So what we did is throw a small little party with some of his friends he works with and went out to eat dinner with him. But on the 21st we had to plan out what to do in the morning so me and my brother made a card for him to read in the morning before he goes to work. My Dad was very happy that day which made me happy.
This was my favorite part about the vacation.
Friday Through sunday I had a couple of basketball games. My first game I played my team sadly lose but that game wasn’t as important as the other one because this one we were playing to see for what playoff seed we were going to get. My team was already in first place, but if we were to lose we would be in second place. So my coach called out the starting line up Me, Timmy and my friends Caleb, Micalange, and Peter. We all were ready to play and win. As the game starts Micalange took the tip and we won it. Through the 1st and 2nd quarters we were always up by a dozen. During the 3rd and 4th they started to hit threes which put them up closer by 6. Then people on my team started to clutch up and hit shots like Me, Gavin, Timmy, ect. Then we did we won and clinched the first place spot. Now this means that my team can win back to back championships. The final score was 58-42. Everyone on my said that this was a great day to end off the vacation.

I went down like 22 black diamonds and one "double black diamond" They weren't really hard. They either had a "steep" drop or a millionth of a scrap of ice! SO BORING! Only glades or actually challenging trails are fun if your me. Nice job with the 180. Malcolm did a 360 going at like 40mph. #speed demon. Also happy birthday Coda/ Mr. Spaheigh!

During February vacation, my family and I went to a snow tubing place. The place had dozens of towering hills, with people bolting down them on their tubes, and a little shack where there were bathrooms and a place to buy snacks. We got out of the car, and put our snow gear on. I was all ready, with a hat, gloves, snow pants, and my snow goggles. My dad went ahead to pay, while my mom went to the bathroom. When mom was done, we were ready to start snow tubing. There were two ways to get to the top. You could go on the conveyor belt, or you can sit in your tube as a machine that grabs onto a rope from your tube. For some reason, you weren't allowed to sit on your tube on the conveyor belt, so I wanted to go the way were I could just lay down and then, bam! I’m at the top of the hill. But, my family wanted to go on the conveyor belt because they said it was faster, so I couldn't go on the cool side. When we finally got to the top of the hills, we quickly got in line for the ride down. My sister noticed that the people going down the slide far to the right had to walk half the way down because their tube just stopped, so we decided not to go down that one. When it was finally my turn, I sat down in the tube, than I pushed myself down the hill! I zoomed down at the speed of sound, and it was over so soon! I was ready to go back up again, and this time I went up the other way with my dad. There was a long line, but when it was my turn, the guy working there put the rope onto the machine, and up I went! When I got on the top, the machine dropped me, and I slid down a tiny hill. But, I crashed into the kid in front of me! He was fine, so I went to the slopes, waited in line, and then I zoomed down the hill as fast as a cheetah. I repeated this cycle a couple times, (except the part where I crashed into the kid) and the next thing I know, my time is almost up! It’s 12:00 now, and we are supposed to leave at 12:05. My sister and I went up for one last ride down the hills, but now more people showed up at the tubing place, so the lines were longer. We got into the line that looked the shortest, and we waited. And waited. It was 12:15 now, and we have barely moved in the line! To make things even worse, the mom in the line next to us started to play baby shark on her phone! I’m not even joking. And the 4 kids that were around my age and were along with her started singing! They finally stopped, but now it was 12:20. We are still in line. It’s like 12:45 now and it’s now our turn! We go down, find our parents, and leave. My sister and I begged my mom to buy us fried dough, but she wouldn’t budge. So we left, and I had so much fun!.

(This is A Preview of most things I did)My february vacation was just BORING, nothing else. All I did was play video games like ROBLOX, Fortnite, Overwatch, and play with Nicko (Nick Young) and Edwardo (Edward Kendall) in Super smash bros ultimate and scribblenauts. We also played basketball but WHO CARES about THAT. Other things I did was moan about how life is bad, sleep, go on a scary train ride, and play with my cousins (Isaac, Garvin, and Kyle).

I WAS going to go to a skiing trip which would of been super fun! BUT…… One family we were going with was worried because their dad was sick. SOOO we canceled the whole trip. Then because we couldn’t go, I went with my dad to work. Later, we were on the train and I was walking out when my dad said someone fainted and we need to help them. So we helped her and walked with her to the shuttle bus station. When we were almost there when she got sick and we got an ambulance. The end of story. SOOOOO after that accident on the train, nick and Edward came over and we played games together. In Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Edward ALMOST beat nick but when he THOUGHT he did he went around the house screaming. BUT… Nick was still alive and just knocked out eddies guy. Scribblenauts was BORING. All me nick and Edward did was showdown and fight each other in it. IT felt like 10000000000 hours even thought it was 15 minutes. Wednesday to Friday all I did was sleep, moan, video games,Youtube, and talk to weirdos on discord. On Saturday there was a big problem. I was late to go to Saturday school! Me and my dad picked up my cousin and we went to Saturday school. I was 10 minutes late:( After, I went home and just watched Youtube. End of Saturday. On Sunday my dad best friends kids came over. They played Super Smash Bros ultimate and ROBLOX with me BUT they are young so they are bad at ROBLOX. Also, my cousin came over so there was SOOOOO much people in the computer room. Later they left and I slept. END OF TOTALLY BORING VACATION.( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

“Yay!” After a 3 hour drive to New Hampshire that felt like forever we had arrived at our vacation house. My mom quickly glanced at her phone to read the code for the house: 4711. We hopped out of the car and entered in the code. My mother pulled down on the box in attempt to open it so we could retrieve the key but… Nothing happened.
“Oh no,”. I think to myself. My mom tries it again. Nothing. One more time. Nothing. She swears under her breath.
“Argh!” she exclaims. 10 minutes pass, it was as cold as a penguins nose. I worried all my fingers would fall of if we waited any longer. After 5 more minutes of trying the code my mom, my sister and I all pile into the car. After another 10 minutes of looking up videos of how to get into the lockbox my mom gets out the car. She walks over to the lockbox and calls out, “I got it!” My sister and I rush out of the car with our suitcases. When we ask our mom what happened she said, “Turns out that the code on the website was wrong. The house owner texted us the right code though so we were still able to get in.” Phew!
“Hello!” a half hour later my dad arrives carrying all of his luggage. We begin to unpack. By that I mean, me and Jamie sit on the couch while our mom and dad unpack.
The next day well Jamie and I are eating my dad comes down and yells, “SKIING TIME!”
“Ugh!” Jamie grumbles as she is dragged upstairs by dad. I on the other hand was pretty excited to go skiing because I had just been trapped in a car for 3 straight hours and hadn’t gotten out of the house. Jamie and I pull on our long johns and snowpants. We pack up our things and head to Campton Mountain well my mom “nests” at the vacation house. After a short drive we arrive at Campton. Our cousins, who were staying with us and showed up this morning, were there too. I was extremely rusty with skiing because I hadn’t done it for over a year. Nevertheless, I put on my ski boots, face mask, helmet, goggles and gloves. I was ready to ski. I warmed on the bunny slope using the rope tow. Overall we had a great time and many runs later I head into the lodge and order a shirley temple. All was well…
Me and my cousin were playing uno and suddenly the door slammed open. My cousin, Jake, ran in. “Makayla broke her leg.” Makayla, my other cousin Josh’s girlfriend had broke her leg. Makayla had long blonde hair and fair skin, unlike our family who skis she snowboards. No one seemed to believe Jake though. After all Jake wasn’t too trustworthy in the past. “I wish I was lying but I’m serious, Makayla broke her leg.” Even after that we didn’t trust Jake. Then my other cousin, Kaylie, came through the door and the look on her face proved that Makayla had broken her leg. We all stood there in shock not really knowing what to do. “They’re having the paramedics come up there and take her down on a sled,” Jake continued. To my surprise everyone went back to their drinks and talking. For some reason nobody was concerned about Makayla. Nobody until my dad showed up. We told him what happened and he went outside to go help out. Then Jake finally told us the story, “On the mountain there’s a little part where you can go into the forest and go over a jump,” Jake said. “The jump is right in front of a small group of trees that separates the two trails. Makayla made a sharp turn toward the jump and went soaring off of it. She was flying like a bird in the sky, going as fast as a cheetah. She landed flawlessly on the ground. Unfortunately she had built up so much momentum from the jump that she couldn’t stop herself and went right into a tree.” Everyone stood in awe, we still couldn’t believe what had happened.
It was a couple days later and and I was sitting in the rec center bar with my aunt, uncle, dad and cousin Kaylie. We got an update on what happened to Makayla.
“So, what ended up happening to Makayla?” I asked
“Turned out she did have a broken leg and has to get a surgery to fix it,” my uncle replied.
“Poor kid,” said my aunt, “First day of skiing and got a broken leg. It’ll only take her a couple months before she gets the cast of though.”
“Yeah, but it’ll take her another month to fully recover,” said my uncle. Lucky for Makayla she could get her leg fixed but the next time she’s on the mountain she’ll probably think twice before going on a jump.

During my February vacation, I went to Las Vegas, Nevada by a airplane. I also visited other states such as Utah, Arizona, and California during the trip. On the first day when we can to Las Vegas, we went to see dancing fountain, where water jumped up and down and danced with the melody of a song. I was amazed by how the water was going so well with the song and how it looked like if it was actually dancing.
The next day we had to wake super early since we were going to Zain national park, Antelope Canyon, and the Horseshoe Bend. In Zain National Park we saw beautiful mountains that looked as if the snow had been sprinkled on the top. We also saw more artistic views and spend about 3 or 4 hours there. In the Antelope Canyon, we saw the Upper Antelope and saw and learned how antelope formed. The sand that soaked water was hard as a brick since they turned into a rock. We also found some rocks that were probably very old and a place where a person took a photo and sold it for millions of dollars. Our tour guide told us this place if full of imagination like a photo of the rocks made a shape of a heart or another made an mountain sunset. As we were going back we found that the gates were closed, so we had to go another way which I thought like a secret way, or just incase the gates are closed way. It was a very bumpy ride and made our adventure more adventures. The secret way had a big rock lying on the middle of the ‘road’ so we could not get through. The tour guide came to check on us to make sure we were alright and told us we probably won’t be able to get through from here. Then we went back from another secret way. This time it was clear but more bumpy. When we finally reached the parking lot I was so happy we went on the ‘secret road.’ In the Horseshoe Bend, the sunset was going to happen, we walked all the way to the bend and saw that we were just in time. The sun was setting down and it looked like we were in a colorful world where someone had just colored the sunset beautifully and placed it in front of us.
We also went to Death Valley national park and the Grand Canyon. In the Grand Canyon we went to skywalk were we walked on glass above the canyon and went on a helicopter/boat ride. We got in the helicopter and went to the Colorado River, as we were landing I felt my ears hurting. It felt like my ears were going to burst. When we came out my ears still kept on hurting but the pain finally stopped. We got in the boat line and waited, finally we got to go on the boat and we saw the Grand Canyon from underneath. In Death Valley we saw lots of amazing canyons and more. We saw the Golden Canyon that looked golden and was a canyon, we also saw the crater which had a trail to go around the canyon. We decided to do it even thought it was so windy and cold there. As we walked around we saw amazing rocks formed from a volcanic eruption. We finally completed the trail and headed back to our car. It was freezing on the top, because we were so high up. We also saw the badwater basin and more! The trip was so fun and in the end I also got to meet my relatives and my cousin.

Over February Vacation I did many fun things, but my overall favorite thing was going to my brother’s hockey tournaments. My brother played in two tournaments. The first tournament my brother played in was at the “Quincy Youth Hockey Arena”. My friend Addison’s brother was playing on my brother’s team, so Addison and I got to hang out during the games. The rink was freezing, and very old. Luckily there was an up stairs in the rink that was warmer so we would go up there a lot. After the games we would hang out for the rest of the day, or go somewhere together. Then we would normally just go over each other’s houses for a couple of hours. At the rink there is a “hall of fame” for the people of North Quincy that were really good at hockey, and one of my uncle and his brothers were on it! My brother had to leave to go to the other hockey tournament, but it turns out that his team won!
The other hockey tournament that my brother played in was at Cape Cod. The Tournament was called “The Frozen Tundra.” While we were there my brother got a gray sweatshirt that had the Frozen Tundra logo on it, his number, and the names of all the other teams who played in the tournament. I got a long sleeve blue tie dye shirt that had the logo, and the number 16 on the back. My family and I stayed in a hotel that had a knee hockey room and a pool. The knee hockey room was a room that the parents payed and rented for the kids who played hockey. The knee hockey room always had kids in it, including my brother. The pool area was very loud, but also very big, my family and I could hear people at the pool from our hotel room! The pool area was decorated very nice with many little tables, and green lounge chairs everywhere, the good thing was that the pool was heated because it was the winter time. After my brother had a hockey game we would go into the pool for hours while our parents talked. My grandparents live in the Cape so when my brother played they would come and watch my brother. Then my grandparents, mom, and I would all go out to eat while my brother and dad would go out with the team and eat. My grandmother would also sometimes take me out to shop with her too. Even though my brother and his hockey team came in second, or my family and I weren’t anywhere warm or tropical, it was still fun to go to my brother’s hockey tournaments over February vacation.

The Game room ta-fudge

“Ahhh, aaaaaaw” went my exceedingly lazy yawn. It was 7:19am at the Mountain view grand when I started to squirm around and step out of bed wearing my extremely comfy star pajamas.
I scanned the room as I saw it’s features of 2 queen size beds, a fold out bed that can be a bed and a couch, the TV, bathroom and dresser were all in it.
Then I realized everyone else was already awake. My cousins from Ireland are 5 hours ahead of our time. So I get why their awake and my siblings that normally wake up before me. Wate, actually I’m not surprised thier up so early in the morning.
60 seconds later my parents came in using the key card to our room said “Get some close on, were heading to the buffet.” Just like that we went down and we got a table that we went to everyday because it’s the only table that fits all of us(10 people). I got a lot of bacon, two pancakes, some milk and syrup. The bacan was so good. It’s like a nice juicy piece of pig from heaven. Definitely my favorite part of breakfast.
That pancake was a little over done but it was still up to my standards.
Right after I took my first bite of the pancake I got thirsty and went to go make myself a hot chocolate in the waiting area. It took 5 minutes to cool down before I could take a sip and not get my tongue signed off.
I got full with cocoa to spare so me and my cousins went down to the game room.
Down in the game room there was a pool table with a rack full of pool sticks, a foosball table air hockey and a table tennis set up.
We started a game of pool but we were all pretty bad at the game and ended up sinking 2 of the opponents balls in but somehow my team one. I didn't get to be there when we finished it because my mom wanted me and my sister to come up to the room to help pack.
By the time me and my sister got dismissed the game was over and my teammate had won it for us so they were waiting in the lobby patiently.
Lucky for me the lobby was right next to the gift shop that had fudge in it. Also my aunt said, ¨I'll get you fudge any way and my aunt was getting ready to checkout so she gave me the money and the go sign so I went in and got 2 cookie dough, 1 chocolate birthday cake and one regular birthday cake.
Then we had to say hasta luego to the hotel and all its features.

During February vacation, my Dad and I took Rowan (my puppy) for a hike up the Blue hills. Rowan is like a mountain goat! When I was holding on to Rowan he jumped on a 6 inch deep frozen pond and broke the ice and fell in! He was fine when he got out. Rowan of course as soon as he got out he rolled around in the dirt. When we made it to the top of the mountain Rowan’s tail was wagging so fast it looked like a helicopter blade! My Dad took a rest while Rowan and I ran around and explored. Dad said there was about a mile and a half left on the trail. Then we started down a different path when we heard a stick snap in the forest. Rowan’s head turned toward the sound.
“It’s fine RoBo” I said. Rowan looked at me as if to say “no it’s not”. We continue down the path for about 10 minutes when Dad hears the crunching of dead leaves. In a split second Rowan is behind my back cowering in fear. Looking at Dad’s Apple watch I see we have about .45 of a mile left. And that's when it happened. Something large, no something huge jumped out of the thicket of trees and caught us by surprise.
“My gosh” Dad said,
“It’s a dear!”
Rowan was barking which scared the deer away, but not before Dad got a picture! On the 30 min. car ride home we stopped for ice cream. We got Rowan a dodgy dish which he slobbered all over the truck. Now some people might ask “why would you have ice cream in February?” Well, to quote my Dad “my ice cream tank is low”. He also might say “any time is a good time for ice cream”. And I agree.

During my February vacation I went skiing in New Hampshire with my family. After an extremely long and boring car trip playing “Temple Run 2 “ on my kindle, I was glad to get out of the car and explore the house. Up in New Hampshire though, there was like 5 feet of snow! When we got in the house, I realized it was huge! It had three levels, on the top level, there was 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds in each! Down the stairs, on the middle level, there was a sitting room, a living room with a massive TV! There was also a kitchen and a dining table. Down another set of stairs was the basement. It included a hot tub, Wii and Xbox 360 with a ton of games for each! There was also two bunk beds. That night we had Flatbread pizza for dinner which is delicious!
The next day we geared up and went to ski Bretton Woods which is a semi-hard mountain. I mostly stayed on blues but I also did a large amount of the blacks. On one blue, there were these huge moguls, which are hills made of ice and snow. They are challenging and you can sometimes fall on them. Green trails are the easiest and I never do them except when I’m either skiing with less experienced friends, or to get to a different trail or glade. The next level up is blues. These are semi hard trails that I usually do. Finally the hardest trails are blacks. They are the most difficult trails except for double blacks. Finally at the top are glades. They are rated by the green blue and black standard as well. A glade is a thin trail, often with moguls, and has trees in it. In most glades you can’t make turns, you just have to ski it out. We went skiing till 4:00, then went back to our house with our friends. We had pasta, meatballs and garlic bread for dinner. Then we went in the hot tub. It felt so good!
The next morning we decided to ski a very easy mountain called Cranmore. Its blacks were like blues and its blues were like greens. I skied almost all the blacks and even those weren’t challenging! After we finished skiing, our friends headed back to Braintree and we went back to the house to get changed. After we were changed, me and my brother Jaden played Halo on the Xbox 360. Then we went out to dinner with my friends family at a restaurant called “The Shovel Handle Pub and Grill” I got a burger! Yum! Finally we headed back to the house to go to bed.
The next morning, we got on our layers, snow pants and ski coats and headed out to Wildcat. Wildcat is a harder mountain then Bretton Woods. The wind was howling like a wolf and it was bitter cold. On this mountain I only went on blues, but it was still fun! We had dinner with our family who have a house in North Conway. We had chili with bread and chips. For dessert we had oatmeal raisin cookies. We said our goodbyes and headed back to the house. There we watched “Hotel Transylvania 3” It was pretty good. Over the course of a couple nights I had built a sweet ice cave in the side of a snow bank.
The next morning we headed out to another semi hard mountain called Black Mountain. I skied lots of blacks and a couple blues. My favorite blue was a glade called “The Never Ending Trail” It certainly felt never ending. At one point I had one ski up and one ski down at the same time! My dad got stuck only once, but he got out. The black diamonds on black were a lot like the blacks at Cranmore. They weren’t very hard. The next day was very sad.
We had to leave our awesome ski house because my brother Malcolm had a soccer tournament back home. After another mind numbing three hour car ride, we were home. We unpacked and just chilled for the rest of the day.
The next morning, I had to leave the house early to get to my basketball game. It was a close and intense game and we manage to ty with the other team 36 to 36. Next, I went home while my Mom went to my brothers basketball game. I stayed home and played on my Xbox for a half an hour. At about 3:00 I boiled some water, made tea and played rummy (which is a card game) with my family and my brothers friends who had come over. Then we played a 3 v s2 basketball game with each other. It’s sad to say, but my team got destroyed. Then, me and my brother got invited to go over our friends house to eat pizza and watch a movie. The pizza was so cheesy and so good. The movie was called “Wayne’s World” and it was hilarious! The next day was less eventful. I played on my Xbox. I played cards. I went to soccer, where we scrimagged against other teams.Mostly I was just dreading school coming on Monday. I went to Malcolm’s soccer tournament. I slept fitfully and then… it was Monday (sigh)

That about sums up my February Vacation.

It was Friday, February 22. My parents, my bestie Madison Killeffer and I were coming home from eating dinner at the mall. Maddy and I immediately kicked the parents of the lounge so we could set up “camp” where we would sleep. We both knew it could get really dark in that room so we insisted on leaving the lights halfway dimmed and the television on all night. Once we were finally done setting up it was already 9:30. We ran back up the stairs and to my room to grab one last pillow, we called this pillow the S.S. Pillow. This was short for the Secret Stash Pillow. When we got up stairs we passed my mom who was watching television at the moment. As we left my room we noticed she was getting out of her bed and putting on her robe. We knew we had to draw no attention to the pillow but, since I’m bad at keeping secrets, I said to my mom “Why don’t you just keep waiting television for another,” I looked at the clock. “Five minutes.”
My mom responded with “what are you hiding?”
Maddy, who had my back, quickly said “We just needed another pillow for our beds.”
While my mom was following us down the stairs we decided to run for it to get there before her. When we did get downstairs we quickly shoved all of the secret candy we were planning to sneak into the room where we were sleeping in and then we ran to that room. We had already smuggled some of candy a little earlier. We threw the S.S. Pillow onto our beds and sat on the beds to look innocent. When my mom came into the room, not long after us, she didn’t even bother to talk about the pillow and said “When the adults go to bed don’t you two stay up too late.”
Maddy and I looked at each other with disappointed faces, but once my mother left the room we smirked at each other. We both had the same idea.
“We’re not going to bed tonight, are we?” We both whispered.
It had been some time now and it was much later. It was about 10:30. The lower level of the house was so quiet we were about to take out some of the stashed candy because we thought the coast was clear. I reached over the couch to grab the S.S. Pillow but, out of the corner of my eye I noticed some light coming from the living room.
I said to Maddy, “I think my dad is still up.”
We then waited to eat the candy until we were sure he was upstairs. After a little while of waiting my mom came into the lounge. At this moment we realized the person in the living room was my mom not my dad. My mother said goodnight to us and said goodnight back. We were sneaky kids every time we were out of sight we would give each other sneaky looks. Once my mom left from saying goodnight to us we gave each other the looks again.
The rest of the night consisted of mostly screens. They do help you stay up so, we used them for a very long time. We were on my laptop for a while watching Netflix and searching how to have a sleepover and how to stay up all night on Wikipedia. We also spent a lot of time on my phone that night. By the time it was 1:00 in the morning we finally went to sleep with the television still on and the lights dimmed.

Beep! Honk! As we set to our journey in the cold world a horrible thing crossed our path, traffic. The whole entire highway was filled with SUVs, trucks, vans, and all the miniature cars between them. It was 9:00 in the morning, we were only 1 hour away from our destination, but when traffic stuck it brought along another hour. My family and some friends were heading to Pat’s Peak, a mountain in New Hampshire. But it wasn’t just any mountain, it was the mountain that’s snow would feel like pillows in a mattress store. Even though I knew it was fake, the snow still felt like heaven.
11:00 am. Finally we have reached Pat’s Peak! I could see the huge, 2000 ft mountain. As we got ready to start having fun, there was a slight problem. None of my friends or family had their own equipment. Notice that we woke up early in the morning, packed up our food, picked up our friends, Robert and Caroline, then we set out, at around 8:15. So now we had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get our skis and snowboard.
Out of the people on the trip, I was the only snowboarder. Snowboarding in also very hard, we don’t have poles, so when it’s a flat surface we have to take it off and put it back on. In addition, everytime we get off a lift we have to strap in. So while your on the lift, in the air, the heavy snowboard is dragging your one foot down. It makes your foot feel like it’s going to fall off.
Anyway, back to the story. Once we got all of our equipment, we had to put our boots on. While I was tightening my right boot I was pulling so hard that it felt like I wa playing tug-of-war with my own foot. After the pain of getting our items we went on the lift. My sister, Caroline, Robert, and I went on a couple of green trails before lunch. My friend robert went down before me and waited at the first turn. Once I went down I didn’t know he was waiting for me, so when I went he jumped out of nowhere and skied right in front of me, trying to make be fall. But, the funny part was that he timed it wrong, his ski was about 1 inch away from my board. Robert ended up making himself fall instead, then his skis fell off and rolled down the mountain.
Later we went down to the lodge for some lunch, but robert stayed for more skiing. Earlier while I was still on the lift my brother, Brendan, was skiing on the bunny slope because he didn’t have a lift ticket. So while we were eating lunch my dad bursts in saying that he can’t find Brendan! We looked everywhere for, we even called him on the loudspeaker. Then after lunch Caroline, my sister, and I went to look for my brother. I went on the lift and looked down. I saw Brendan skiing with robert on the hill! You must be thinking, this isn’t a big deal, but you need a lift to go and the mountain and you need a lift ticket to ride the lift. But Brendan didn’t have a lift ticket, so robert had to sneak him on!
While on the lift I called my mom to come out to get Brendan. She scooped him up and brought him back to the lodge. I snowboarded down the mountain, and guess what, Robert was waiting on the bottom of the mountain to try and make me fall again, but, he missed. Later my, sister and friends and I went to the top of the mountain, we ended up having to take our brother, because he said that he liked the lift. My parents got him a lift ticket. So the whole trip we had to take care of our 6 year old brother.

Exaggerated

“Wake up!!” My mom screams at me. I open my eyes tiredly.
“What?” I ask.
“We are going to your grandpa’s house.” My mom then leaves the room to let me change. I turn on my phone and with half closed eyes looked at the clock on the phone.
“5 Am. Really??” I dress in a hurry and grab my book and my phone along with the charger. My mom is waiting for me downstairs along with my asleep 2 year old brother.
“Cmon, Ty we have to get to your Grandpa’s house so he can watch the 2 of you. I have to work.”
“Sure.” I reply. As we get in the car, I grab the blanket from out of the trunk and cover myself with it. I was freezing already.

15 minutes later
5:15

¨We’re here.¨ My mom said.
¨Already?¨ I asked as I was warm and cozy covered in the blanket.
¨Yes we are.¨ She replied ¨Now get inside and into a bed!¨ She didn’t have to tell me twice. I dashed up the stairs leading to the front door and rang the doorbell twice. My Grandpa immediately opened the door, and I gave him a hug and sped upward on the stairs toward the beds. My cousin Jared, wasn’t at the house so I went into his bed and took a nice, comforting, sleep.

11:3200 am

I woke up to the sound of of something dropping on the floor. ¨Eh It’s nothing to worry about¨ I thought. I flipped on my phone and started playing a game called idle heroes.
19 minutes later
11:51

As I was playing I heard a sound that was like a growl from a wolf. I looked around the room and into the hall frightened that a large animal was in the house. It seemed like the growl followed me around, until I realized what it was. ¨It is my stomach.¨ I said out loud to no one. I ran downstairs and saw and smelled what provoked my stomach. My grandpa was cooking a breakfast of Bacon, that smelled of fat and grease, and eggs, cooked sunny side up. My mouth watered just thinking about eating it.
¨Breakfast!!¨ Grandpa called with a grin.
¨Other kids are here other than me and Tre?¨ Tre is my little brother.
¨Oh yes there are.¨ The grin on his old wrinkled face widened now. I heard the sound of feet on the hard wooden floor upstairs.
¨Oh no!¨ I mouthed the saliva in my mouth suddenly gone dry.
I could see there feet rushing down the stairs. Rainbow socks flashed every which way. My cousins rushed down the stairs and ran right into me as I was at the foot of the stairs paralyzed with my mouth open.

My February vacation was amazing! The first thing I did was go shop for a phone. The type of phone I got was an iphone XR. But when I got the phone I was so happy and shocked. I’ve been waiting my whole life for a phone because I’ve never had one before. But the problem was that I didn't have a phone case yet so the phone was slippery like a bar of soap. Also, the bad thing is when I dropped my phone I thought it was cracked like a cracked sidewalk because I didn't have a screen protector on it. But when I picked it up it didn't have a scratch! I felt relieved. But the next day I got a phone case. The coolest feature on the phone was the animoji. The animoji is a thing where you can make yourself an emoji! You can also create yourself. After getting a phone I got sick for awhile but I still enjoyed my vacation.
