Level One Vocabulary
So...how did they do that?
1. and 2. Mr. Pestone will give you the word and the definition in class, and we will discuss it’s meaning.
3. This is done by the student for homework. Your sentence MUST:
- demonstrate an understanding of the word
- should not be about our story
Notice how this student’s sentence shows his understanding by writing that the “harmonizing created a beautiful sound” rather than just writing something that demonstrates an understanding of the word type (verb) such as “I like to harmonize”
4. This part is also done as homework. It’s tough, but fun! You must rephrase the definition of the word without using any of the original definition’s words! It’s okay to to use some simple words every once in a while (examples: by, the, end, etc) but try to use 100% new words! Can you do it???
